The SQL tab is available only to enterprise customers with Redshift access and allows you to query directly off of your Redshift cluster. You can also download the results as a CSV file (up to the first 10,000 rows).
Table of Contents
Note: There are some limitations to the editor. You cannot write multiple statements, write join commands, or write commands that change anything (e.g.
UPDATE). The editor also only displays up to 1,000 rows.
SQL Query Editor
The text above the query editor provides you with some information regarding your Redshift cluster. The right sidebar displays the various tables (views) you can perform your Redshift queries on. You can read more about your table schema here.
Writing a Query
Below is an example query to retrieve the top 100 most active users.
You can use our Redshift Playbook as a resource to write SQL queries.
If you click the "Download" button, you can download the results of your query into a CSV file. This will return the first 10,000 rows.
Learn More About Redshift
The data queried via SQL are stored in a customer-dedicated Redshift cluster. We recommend reading our Redshift Playbook in order to better understand how to query the data and the schema of the data. You will also find sample queries in the playbook.
